STARS, which stands for "Student Tutors Accelerating Reading Success," is Knob Hill's student-tutoring program. Responsible, dedicated 4th and 5th grade students tutor 1st and 2nd graders before school, 3 days per week. STAR tutors assist their buddies with High-Frequency word practice, reading fluency, decoding, comprehension, and writing. Students eligible for STARS is based on teacher-request and availability of tutors. We are extremely proud of the commitment of both tutors and buddies to make Knob Hill Hawks successful readers and leaders!
