Dear Knob Hill Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I am excited to welcome our returning families and extend a warm welcome to those joining our Knob Hill community for the first time. It is a privilege to serve as your principal, and I look forward to another wonderful year of learning, growing, and celebrating together.
This year, our schoolwide theme is "Together We Build, Together We Rise Higher!" This message reflects our commitment to working together to create a school where every student feels safe, included, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential.
At Knob Hill, we believe that a strong sense of belonging is the foundation for student success. We are committed to creating a positive and inclusive school environment where students develop meaningful friendships, treat one another with kindness and respect, and feel connected to their school community. Along with this focus, we remain dedicated to providing high-quality instruction that challenges students, builds strong reading skills, and supports academic growth for every learner.
This is also an especially exciting time for Knob Hill as we continue the transformation of our campus! Our new classrooms and learning spaces represent an incredible investment in our students and their futures. While construction brings some challenges along the way, it also provides us with a wonderful opportunity to build something special together.
A little about me: I have dedicated more than 25 years to education, beginning my career as a fourth- and fifth-grade teacher before moving into school leadership. I hold a master's degree in Educational Leadership and have completed the National Institute for School Leadership certification. Throughout my career, I have believed that strong relationships, collaboration, and a shared commitment to students are essential to a successful school. On a personal note, my husband, Mike, and I live in San Marcos, and our daughter, Brook, is a senior at UC San Diego.
One of the things I value most about Knob Hill is our strong sense of community. Our dedicated teachers and staff work hard every day to provide meaningful learning experiences, and our families are essential partners in that work. I encourage you to stay connected, get involved, and share your ideas as we work together to make Knob Hill the best it can be.
I am proud to be part of this incredible school community and excited for all that lies ahead. Together, we will continue building a school where students feel they belong, discover their strengths, and achieve great things.
