Mrs. Amos

Amos Family on the beach

I am so excited to teach 4th grade this year! I have taught 3rd for the past 7 years, so moving up to 4th seems absolutely perfect! I know where the students should be and will be able to move right along from where we left off in 3rd. I am ready for new learning goals, more rigor and cannot wait to teach independent learners.

My husband Randy and I live in Carlsbad and have two little girls, Layni (8), Taylin (6), Dax (18 months) and cat, Bella (17). Randy is a math teacher at Mission Hills, so if you have older children they may know Mr. Amos. Layni will be in  3rd grade, and Taylin will be in 1st grade. I love having them here as Hawks! When I'm not in the classroom, I like to run, hike, swim, camp, go to the beach, READ,  and travel...traveling and seeing the world is favorite thing to do.

Effort is the most important to me and a child who puts forth effort always does their best. If a student doesn't like a particular subject or struggles, it is very important to me to determine why and help them understand and enjoy that subject. I love hands on, project based learning because ALL students learn differently. We might go outside, we might head out for a field trip or a project might come home. It's all about engagement and involvement. I look forward to being with your child every day, and cannot wait to see them grow!
