Principal's Corner

About Mr. Trujillo

The 2018-2019  school year marks the beginning of my 28th year in education! I began my career as a 4th grade teacher in San Bernardino County, in Colton. After having taught there for several years I was fortunate enough to get an offer to teach fourth grade just outside of Washington D.C. in Laurel, Maryland.

I then returned to California and joined the San Marcos Unified School district in 1995. During my time in the district I have taught reading, as well as 5th and 6th grades. After many years in the classroom I became a district support provider for beginning teachers, in our BTSA program.

Following my time with BTSA I was the Assistant Principal at Twin Oaks Elementary and San Marcos Elementary. I began my career as a principal at San Marcos Elementary and then moved to Discovery Elementary for nine years. Which brings us to my current assignment as principal of Knob Hill Elementary for the past four years. I am grateful everyday to be able to work at such an amazing school.

My education includes a B.A. in English and Political Science from the University of Redlands. My teaching credential in Multiple Subjects/English is also from the University of Redlands. I hold an M.A from University of California, San Diego in educational research/teaching and learning, and an administrative credential from National University.

When I'm not here at Knob Hill, I am actively involved in my community. Reading and music (piano and voice) are both life long passions of mine, and I find as much time as possible to devote to both pursuits. I spend a lot of time with my dog, Finley, walking in the park or training. My other great love is travel, and I spend as much time as possible traveling the world or relaxing on a cruise ship.
